Clay Vessel Reflection (1-D): January 24, 2013
1. The good and strong parts of my vessel is the pattern because I think it looks nice and neat.
2. I think I could have done better on making the top more even because it woul look better if all sides were even.
3. My vessel is about the same size as to a fist. The general form is just a circle pot. I cIhoose to do it smaller so it can be used as a little pot to hold things and it doesn't take up much room.
4. The purpose of my vessel is to hold anything that will fit! It could go from anywhere to candy or to coins! Anything that needs holding will do!
5. I choose rythm for my vessel and made a paint brush texture on it and made it repeat. Rythm was an easier thing do to on my vessel so that's what I did.
6. I learned that something can look really bad at first but if you keep trying it gets better. If things get rough in life, don't give up, keep trying.
7. First, I wedged my caly to get all the air bubbles out. Then I made it into a ball and stuck my thumb in the middle of the clay to start my pot. The first couple of times, it look awful, so I kept on starting over. I did the same steps as the first but took much more time on the last one. I made sure everything was right and it looked good. It was more by chance because I just started to make a shpae and whatever it came out to be, that's what is was! To finish it off, I smoothed the inside out and then I put a paint brush texture on it to finish it off!
8. I think this is a good project to start off with to begin the semester because it helps people get use to the clay and it wasn't to hard. I think it is worth while because you have to ease into things. I don't think you should change anything.
