Dinnerware Set Reflection (4-C): April 12, 2013
1. The good and strong parts of my dinnerwear is the size because they all are similar in size so they go together!
2. I think I could have done better on the quality because it doesn't look like refined dinnerware.
3. They theme of my design will be a ocean/underwater thing because I love the being on the ocean and I liked the idea.
4. I didnt really have a detail to my theme because I did it by chance.
5. The type of symmetry I used for my bowl and cup was radial because I did them both on the wheel making the equal all around. For my plate I used assymetrical because it is not very even at all!
6. From this project, I learned that I liked making sets because if you have a one bad piece, you can fix it by making the other 2 better! You can apply this to life because sometimes you can get 2nd chances and you have to make better choices the 2nd time around.
7. The design procces of my dinnerware steps was to first draw preliminary designs. The first thing I made, was a plate. I made it flat, then use circular items to cut it out and get the shape. Then that one fell apart. So I did the same process for the 2nd plate, and it fell apart again. Then I made a bowl on the wheel. It looked fine, so then I started MY THIRD plate. Then someone broke my bowl. Then the plate turned out, and I made another bowl. Then the last day I made my cup and NOTHING happened to this one. It was a MIRACLE. :) The hardest in my opinion was my plate because I had many issues with it.
8. I didn't really like this project because there were too many pieces you had to make so you couldnt just focus on one and make it really good becuase you had to worry about 2 other ones! I think the time expansion really helped though, so that was good.
